WEST CHARLOTTE - Police say a stabbing in west Charlotte Tuesday night left one man with serious injuries.
The stabbing occurred along the 1300 block of Condon Street around 9:13 p.m.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found Robert Lee Scott had been stabbed.
Scott was having problems breathing and paramedics performed CPR before taking him to Carolinas Medical Center.
Scott said he gave the suspect, Eugene Stradford, a ride in his van. When they were parked along Condon Street, Stradford told Scott he was going to take the van.
Scott resisted and was stabbed in the chest by Stradford, police said.
Stradford fled the scene in Scott's 2000 Dodge Ram van.
Early Wednesday morning, warrants were issued against Stradford for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, attempted murder and armed robbery.
Police arrested Stradford around 3 a.m. this morning after police spotted the stolen van outside a house in which he was hiding out.
